During his first season as a full-time starter, Bishop McDevitt's Tayvon Bowers threw for 3,576 yards and 42 touchdowns as he lead his team to the PIAA Class AAA Semi-Finals. After receiving several offers from the likes of Rutgers, Wake Forest, Akron and others, Bowers said he would make his decision before his senior season. Earlier this evening, Bowers announced via twitter that he committed to Wake Forest:

Earlier this evening, PA PREPS had a chance to speak with Bowers about his decision.

"Well, I chose to commit there because when I went to visit with my family on April 30th of this year, they loved it," Bowers said. "That played a big role in my decision. The next biggest factor was the great level of education that I'll be able to get at Wake Forest."

Bowers also rushed for 362 yards and three touchdowns, but it's his passing ability that impressed the Wake Forest coaches the most. "Coach Warren Ruggerio (Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach) is the one who recruited me. He likes my ability to pass and also likes my decision-making skills," said Bowers.

Ultimately, Bowers was impressed with the atmosphere at Wake Forest when he last visited.

"When I visited back in April, I spent some time with the players and met the coaches. It's just a place where I can see myself being at for the next four years."
