Ducks reach into Buckeye State for RB offer

The Oregon Ducks only have a handful of offers out at running back for the Class of 2012. They added another name to that list last week reaching across the country to the Buckeye State.

Austintown, Ohio athlete Demitrious Davis spoke with a member of the Oregon staff last week and had another offer added to his already impressive list.

"I talked to Coach Campbell, the running backs coach," Davis recalled. "I like him a lot. He's a straight-up guy. He won't lie to you like some coaches do. He tells you how it is. I know he has been there for a lot of years and the stability, that's what I like about it."

The 5-foot-10, 183 pound high school standout currently plays quarterback for Austintown Fitch. The Oregon offer at running back impressed him.

"He told me that they don't offer too many running backs," said Davis. "At first it was weird. Out of so many running backs, I was chosen. I'm thankful for it. In my high school offense now I'm the quarterback."

Duck Sports Authority asked why Coach Campbell was projecting him in the offensive backfield.
