Next week: Friday vs. Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan (2-3)
Four-star running back Mike Davis
Result: Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson (6-0) defeated Covington (Ga.) Newton (3-3) 34-6
How did he perform: "I had 16 carries for 219 yards and two touchdowns. I did pretty well. It wasn't a blowout game. It was a game we won 34-6. Everything goes to my offensive line."
Goals for the season: "I'm trying to get 200 yards in every game. I'm averaging two touchdowns a game, so I want to keep getting that or more."
Next game: Friday vs. Fairburn (Ga.) Hughes (2-4)
Four-star offensive tackle Jessamen Dunker
Result: Boynton Beach (Fla.) (4-1) defeated Fort Pierce (Fla.) Westwood (0-5) 18-6
How was the game: "It was a good game. We won. I had about eight pancakes, but I was feeling under the weather."
Had he played sick before: "This was actually the first time. It was a district game, so I couldn't let my team down."
What Boynton Beach had to do to win: "They stopped our running game from going up the middle, so we had to change it up. I was pulling a lot. It was working a lot. It went good."
Next game: 10/21 vs. Jensen Beach (Fla.) (2-3)
Two-star kicker Austin Hardin
Result: Atlanta Marist (5-1) defeated Atlanta Lakeside (0-6) 53-0

Four-star running back Matt Jones
Result: Seffner (Fla.) Armwood (6-0) defeated Tampa (Fla.) Sickles (4-1) 35-0

Next week: Friday vs. Dover (Fla.) Strawberry Crest (0-5)
Three-star safety Rhaheim Ledbetter
Result: Shelby (N.C.) Crest (6-2) defeated Dallas (N.C.) North Gaston (0-8) 52-21
How did he play: "It was pretty good. I had five tackles and that was pretty much it. I didn't play in the second half because they really weren't that good. I didn't play offense either."
The mood leading into a game against a lesser team: "It was still focused. You can never know what happens. The bad teams can always beat the good teams."
On what offense North Gaston was running: "The Wing-T offense, the double slot with the running back. I was playing Apache, which is outside blitz linebacker, so when we see a team in that kind of formation, I'm like a down blitz safety."
Does he enjoy that role: "It's pretty fun. They're coming straight to you, so you get the big hits."
On Florida's loss to LSU: "After so long I just cut off the TV.
I was paying close attention to the secondary. I felt like I could help with the strength I want to bring to the team which is the big-hit safety."
Next game: Friday at Gastonia (N.C.) Huss (5-3)
Three-star defensive tackle JaFar Mann
Result: Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson (6-0) defeated Covington (Ga.) Newton (3-3) 34-6
The improving Stephenson defense: "It's a big difference between that first game until this game. We just keep getting better and better. We're just going for that ring. Our defense wants it, man."
How the defense has improved: "Our D-line helps our DBs so most of the throws they're getting are just lob passes because they want to get it out of their hands because the rush is coming."
On his performance Friday: "I was really getting off the blocks on runs. I had six tackles and five assists."
How did he approach Newton: "I have to get a feel for my opponent. This game I could tell there was a little fear in their eyes because we came out hard. I just bull rushed the whole game because they didn't want to block me."
Next week: Friday vs. Fairburn (Ga.) Hughes (2-4)
Rivals100 safety Marcus Maye
Result: Melbourne (Fla.) Holy Trinity Episcopal (5-1) defeated Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll Catholic (3-4) 34-3

Four-star defensive tackle Dante Phillips
Result: Venice (Fla.) (5-0) defeated Sarasota (Fla.) (2-3) 35-7
The game: Venice romped in its district opener. The Venice defense was dominant, holding Sarasota to just 18 yards of offense in the first half. Nothing was noted in the newspaper about the performance of Phillips.
Next game: Friday vs. North Port (Fla.) (2-4)
Next week: Friday vs. Lehigh (1-3)
Four-star linebacker Lorenzo Phillips
Result: Patterson (La.) (5-0) defeated Kaplan (La.) (2-4) 61-6
The game: Patterson continued its dominance in the area and Phillips continued his recent trend of not talking to media.
Next week: Friday at Abbeville (La.) (0-6)
Four-star wide receiver Latroy Pittman
Result: Citra (Fla.) North Marion (4-2) defeated Crystal River (Fla.) (2-3) 15-13
His thoughts on the game: "It was a tough game. We didn't expect that. I guess we came out a little slow with our tempo and everything. We kind of picked it up in the second half though."
Was the slow start a continuation of last week's loss: "I guess you could say that because we were kind of embarrassed. We had given up 385 rushing yards, which is weird for this defense. Every team plays North Marion hard. Everyone wants to beat North Marion."
How did he play: "I felt like I did what I had to do to help the team win. We didn't throw the ball as much. Actually, we only had like three passes, and I didn't have one catch. On defense, I had like 10 or 12 tackles and two deflections, the second one could have been a pick."
Is it frustrating to not get the ball: "You always just got to grind it out. You can't get emotional about not getting the ball. I have to realize once I get to college I won't get the ball every play.
I'll have to block most of the time."
Next game: 10/21 vs. Alachua (Fla.) Santa Fe (7-0)
Rivals100 cornerback Brian Poole
Result: Bradenton (Fla.) Southeast (5-1) defeated Arcadia (Fla.) DeSoto County (2-4) 28-13
The game: After getting to focus more on defense previously in the season, Poole was an integral part of the Seminoles' offensive attack as he took over as the wildcat quarterback. He finished the game with three touchdowns -- one through the air and two on the ground.
Next week: Friday at Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview (1-4)
Four-star linebacker Jeremi Powell
Result: Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park (4-1) defeated St. Petersburg (Fla.) (4-2) 21-18
On a comeback victory: "It was an intense game. We had a lot of heart to finish the game. I caught that winning touchdown. I wasn't even really thinking about the touchdown."
His game-winning touchdown catch with 24 seconds left: "I knew I was going to catch it because I don't even imagine dropping the ball. I just tried to find the crease because I saw two guys coming, so I just laid down, and then I looked up in the sky and said, 'Thank you, God.'"
How did he prepare defensively: "Coach sat me down and we had a studying film session for about two hours one day. I was just learning the formations they were doing. I learned every play, everything they ran. I was calling it out every play during the game."
Next game: Friday at Gulfport (Fla.) Boca Ciega (2-3)
Four-star tight end Colin Thompson
Result: Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic (6-1) defeated Philadelphia Mastery Charter (1-5) 57-0
His thoughts on the opponent: "It was a third-year school that just really started football this year. It was pretty bad. We didn't even get on the field until it was 21-0."
How did he perform: "I had a sack and four tackles, and I had one catch for 45 yards. They really couldn't do too much."
Next week: Friday at Radnor (Pa.) Archbishop Carroll (1-4)
Three-star defensive tackle Quinteze Williams
Result: Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek (6-0) defeated Locust Grove (Ga.) (1-6) 42-0
His thoughts on the game: "It was a great game. We went out early and did what we had to do."
His performance: "I had four tackles -- three for a loss and one for no gain. I was just doing what the coaches were telling me to do, going out on the tight end, checking my reads and tackling the fullback. It was a Wing-T team, so it was my job to tackle the fullback."
Next game: 10/21 at Stockbridge (Ga.) (5-1)
