Rivals.com three-star Tyler Hayes, an Alabama commitment, was named the Class 4A Lineman of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association on Wednesday.



As a senior at Thomasville, Hayes did a little bit of everything. On defense, he had 111 tackles, 16 for a loss, five sacks and returned an interception for a touchdown. He also rushed for 603 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers.



Since the completion of his senior year, Hayes has competed in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.
